Wreckage cleared from deadly semi-truck crash into overpass pillars along I-10 near downtown El Paso
UPDATE #2: Investigators said a tractor-trailer driven by 32–year old Harjot Singh Goraya of Riverside, California slid off a wet highway and collided into overpass support columns. Goraya was killed in the crash. Police had not yet determined how Goraya lost control of the truck.
UPDATE: I-10 west near downtown was temporarily closed just before 1 p.m. Wednesday to allow for a tow truck to remove the crash wreckage. It has since reopened.

One person died early Wednesday morning when a semi-truck crashed along Interstate 10 in the downtown El Paso area, according to police.
The semi-truck was the only vehicle involved in the 1 a.m. crash that happened on I-10 near the Mesa Exit ramp.
The semi-truck was facing the wrong way of the road, but investigators haven’t provided details on what triggered the crash.
All westbound lanes of the interstate were closed for nearly nine hours, but the freeway re-opened after 10 a.m.
