Electricity restored for 1,800 in Fabens after outage caused by vehicle crash into pole

MGN

FABENS, Texas -- About 1,800 homes and businesses were without electricity in the Fabens area for a portion of Thursday afternoon after a car struck a utility pole, fire officials said.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. along Alameda between Fabens and Tornillo.

Emergency and El Paso Electric crews closed the roadway while they worked on the downed electrical pole.

The utility's outage map indicated power was restored to everyone by 4 p.m.

The Fabens outage came less than a day after an unexplained outage impacted up to 1,400 customers Wednesday evening in central El Paso.
