UTEP back in win column following 67-66 victory over Middle Tennessee

It was a much needed win for the UTEP Miners Thursday night at the Don Haskins Center.

The Miners survived a scare from Middle Tennessee by just one point, 67-66 was the final score.

UTEP overcame four Blue Raiders in double-figures and improved to 11-1 at The Don.

UTEP's Bryson Williams (28 points, 10 rebounds) and Efe Odigie (15 points, 10 rebounds) each recorded a double-double in the team's victory.

After a back-and-forth late stretch, UTEP took its biggest lead of the night with 67-61 lead with nine seconds remaining after Daryl Hawkins buried a pair of free throws. 

UTEP improves to 13-9 on the season, and 4-5 in conference play.

UTEP will host UAB on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Miners and Blazers are set to tipoff at 7 p.m. at the Don Haskins Center.
