Candidates for El Paso County Commissioner precinct 3 face off in debate
EL PASO, Texas -- It's your voice, your vote: ABC-7 hosted a debate for El Paso County Commissioner precinct three, which encompasses portions of far east county and the Mission Valley.
Four Democratic candidates and one Republican candidate are vying for the seat, currently held by County Commissioner Vincent Perez.
The winner of the Democratic primary in March will face off against the Republican candidate in November.
Early voting runs Feb. 18 to the 28, and the primary is March 3.
The debate included incumbent Vince Perez, Illiana Holguin, who's an immigration attorney and the El Paso County Democratic Party chair, and Elia Garcia, who's currently the Mayor of Socorro.
There is a fourth Democratic candidate in the race, Eduardo Romero. We reached out to him several times and did not hear back in time.
This debate allowed candidates to share their vision for El Paso.
We asked each candidate three questions and all candidates had 30 seconds to respond.
At the end, all candidates were allowed to ask another candidate one question, then they had their closing arguments.
