Scenic Drive, Lost Dog Trail among several hiking spots set to open Memorial Day Weekend
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The city of El Paso announced several hiking and biking paths will reopen this Saturday.
They were closed in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Here's the list:
- Lost Dog
- Round House
- Lazy Cow
- Thousand Steps
- Palisades
- Lomas del Sol
- Jan Sumrall Memorial
- Scenic Drive (Scenic Sundays to resume)
McKelligon Canyon will open Friday, but with restrictions. The gate will remain closed to vehicle traffic, only foot and bicycle traffic allowed on the paved road. Hiking on trails is not permitted.
The Department of Public Health encourages visitors to keep six feet apart from others, to not congregate with people who are not from their household. The use of face coverings is encouraged. If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms, you're asked to stay home.
