El Paso Electric asks customers to conserve energy due to heat, transmission line damage

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso Electric is asking customers to conserve energy between 2 to 8 p.m. Friday.

El Paso Electric officials report crews are working on repairs after a major transmission line in Northern New Mexico was damaged overnight.

The conservation request is also in anticipation of continued triple-digit temperatures.

El Paso Electric officials are offering the following tips on energy conservation through their social media.
