Investigators: Officer foils plot to mail pot to jail
EL PASO, Texas -- Investigators say an officer processing mail sent to the El Paso County Jail Annex found marijuana inside one of the letters.
That set off a United States Postal Inspections Service investigation that officials say led to the sender: Benjamin Borunda.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Borunda's arrest. He's been charged with the manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
Borunda was taken into custody by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Narcotics on June 16 and booked into the El Paso Detention Facility.
