WNBA star Brittney Griner wrote a letter to President Biden - expressing concern about how long she may have to spend at a Russian jail.
"I’m terrified I might be here forever," Griner wrote to the president.
According to a statement released by the communications company representing the Griner family, she made the comment in a handwritten letter delivered to the White House Monday.
Some excerpts of the letter have been made public.
In the letter, Griner referenced July fourth and said quote: "freedom means something completely different to me this year."
She asked president Biden to not forget about her and other Americans detained in Russia.
