The Border Latch and La Gran Tetada celebrate 10th annual event
EL PASO, Texas- With Breastfeeding Awareness Month around the corner, The Border Latch and La Gran Tetada prepare to celebrate.
The Border Latch will be held August 5th from 9:30AM to 11AM near the Sunland Park City Hall.
According to Rosalva Ruiz who works with mother's, there will be officials from breastfeeding advocate groups on hand to speak and educate young families.
Ruiz believes there are nothing but positive benefits to breastfeeding, saying, “It's good for the baby, it's good for the mother, it's good for the house income, the economy, education, the health system. Overall, it's good.”
She says she has seen the benefits in her profession, adding, “I work also in diabetes and the reason I am working on breastfeeding is because if I can make changes right now in people breastfeeding in the future, it's going to impact when we have healthier outcomes.”
