ABC-7 StormTRACK Weather: Hot weekend with daily storm chances

Good morning all! It was another noisy night with storms that marched across our area after midnight. It's likely you got rain at your apartment while you were sleeping! Can we see the same conditions for today? The short answer is yes, we can potentially see multiple storms this afternoon.

The long answer is, a lot of the moisture that is moving into our area is "recycled", meaning, storms have already used the moisture to form storms in other areas, and the remaining moisture is being pushed into our area due to a high-pressure system. That being said, we don't have the plentiful, fresh moisture straight from the Gulf of California or Mexico, but instead, some leftover moisture out of the 4 corners region. Today I have our region at a 30% chance of rain.

Temperatures are going to be quite hot as well! We're looking at highs in the upper 90s today, with some locations possibly seeing up to 100 degrees. That being said, make sure you limit your time outdoors, drink plenty of water, and wear light-colored clothing. Stay safe and cool!
