CBP officers detain man wanted for homicide in Colorado at Ysleta border crossing
EL PASO, Texas -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican man Thursday wanted for homicide in Colorado.
According to officials, the 32-year-old Mexican citizen arrived at the crossing using the vehicle lanes.
CBP officers questioned the man, revealing an outstanding warrant. His identity was confirmed using biometric verification during a secondary inspection.
He was turned over to local authorities pending extradition to the Adams County Sheriff's Office in Colorado.
"While conducting our primary inspections CBP will routinely identify and apprehend people being sought for any number of alleged criminal acts,” said CBP Ysleta Port Director Arnoldo Gomez. “This is all part of our homeland security mission and keeping communities safe.
