Jury selection begins in Dominion defamation trial against Fox News

WILMINGTON, Delaware-- Jury selection in the Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation trial against Fox News began Thursday and should wrap up on Monday.

About 300 potential jurors were summoned to Delaware Superior Court for the landmark defamation trial.

But only twenty-four will be chosen 12 jurors and 12 alternates. Jurors had to answer questions about their news consumption, including whether they watch Fox News.

Judge Eric Davis says the court made good progress in whittling down the jury pool Thursday. He believes there are more than enough jurors to be able to start the trial on Monday.

The trial which is expected to last six weeks, will call attention to Fox’s 2020 election denialism and the role of disinformation in American politics.
