New Mexico State University hosts 2023 commencement ceremonies

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- NMSU hosted three commencement ceremonies from May 12th to May 13th to celebrate the graduation of over 1,400 students.

Those ceremonies took place at the Pan American Center.

Saturday morning’s 9 a.m. ceremony honored undergraduates from the College of Health, Education and Social Transformation, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, and the College of Business.

The 2 p.m. ceremony honored undergraduates from the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the College of Engineering.

Friday's ceremony honored those graduating with their master's and doctorate degrees.

“It feels really good, I worked really hard for this degree, and I think this is a good payoff," said Mia, a student who graduated Saturday with her bachelor's degree in kinesiology.

Mr. and Mrs. Aggie, Carson Pharris and Molly Hill, also graduated today with bachelor's degrees in educational administration and kinesiology respectively.

“We have college degrees now, we’re both going on to graduate school, and we love NMSU!," said Pharris.

Pharris is a former member of the Aggie's football team, and Hill was the captain of NMSU's swim team.

The two, recently engaged, plan on attending graduate school together.

"[Our] wedding is next spring!," added Pharris.
