Migrant mom killed by train in Juarez; she was not traveling in it

JUAREZ, Chihuahua (KVIA) -- A migrant woman from Nicaragua was struck and killed by a train on Monday.

State authorities said in a statement, the woman was crossing the train tracks while the train was making a stop. When the train started moving, the migrant woman got stuck in it and died at the scene.

According to El Diario de Juarez, the woman was traveling with her 11-year-old son, along with other family members.

The incident happened in Downtown Juarez, not far from the Paso Del Norte Bridge. This area is well known for having migrants in different hotels, buildings or those recently arriving to Juarez.
