Americas falls in game one of 6A regional quarterfinal against Byron Nelson, 2-0

MIDLAND, Texas - It's not the ideal way Americas wanted to start their regional quarterfinal series against Byron Nelson, but at least they'll get to play another day.

Friday night in Midland, TX, the Americas Trail Blazers lost in game one of the best-of-three series to the Byron Nelson Bobcats by a final score of 2-0.

Americas is hoping to advance to the Sweet 16 of the Class 6A baseball playoffs.

Byron Nelson would score the only two runs of the game in the top of the 3rd inning.

Americas just couldn't get anything going offensively as they were held to 8 hits, but no runs.

Americas will have to win two in a row against the Bobcats if they want to punch their ticket to the regional semifinal.

Game two is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. CST in Midland.

Game three (if necessary) will take place 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two.
