Reporting under pressure: ABC’s Matt Gutman discusses his career, panic attacks, and new book

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- While being one of the top news correspondents for ABC, Matt Gutman has been also living with panic attacks. He's dealt with them being live on air, and throughout his long career. He's written a book No Time to Panic, about his experiences, learning about panic attacks and treatment options. He spoke with ABC-7's mental health correspondent Avery Martinez, about his book, career -- and living with anxiety.

Avery Martinez covers mental health in the Borderland as part of ABC-7’s Be Mindful initiative. He is also a Report for America corps member. RFA places talented, emerging journalists in newsrooms like ABC-7’s to report on under-covered issues and communities. Report for America is an initiative of The GroundTruth Project, an award-winning nonprofit journalism organization dedicated to rebuilding journalism from the ground up.
