German authorities arrest Libyan man suspected of planning attack on Israeli Embassy
BERLIN (AP) — German authorities have arrested a Libyan national with suspected ties to the extremist Islamic State group who was allegedly planning an attack on the Israeli Embassy in Berlin. The man was detained on Saturday in Bernau. The town is just outside of Berlin. Interior Minister Nancy Faeser confirmed the arrest. The German news agency dpa reported that the suspect was expected to be brought before an investigating judge on Sunday. Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor thanked the German security authorities “for ensuring the security of our embassy.”
