YISD welcomes back students on first day of school

The Ysleta Independent School District welcomes students back to its 49 campuses on Monday for the 2025-26 school year.

YISD is providing free school supplies for pre-K and elementary school students.

ABC-7 joined Eastwood Knolls International School for their first day of school.

EKIS is one of YISD's five international schools where they teach a variety of languages, including Spanish, French, German, Mandarin and Japanese.

EKIS has dual programs where their classes are taught in English and Spanish and then students are taken to their Mandarin class.

Their new principal, Chris Puga says there is a wait list to get into EKIS.

Classes start at 7:30 a.m.

YISD says enrollment is still open, you can register on their website, here.
