LCPS Board of Education holding special session on Cesar Chavez Elementary School name

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- Las Cruces Public Schools will hold a special session next week at Cesar Chavez Elementary School to gather public input on possibly removing Cesar Chavez' name from the building, LCPS announced Thursday.

The school's Board of Education will host the meeting Wednesday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. Students, staff, families and community members can share their feedback with the board. The school said public comment will be limited to the school's name only.

Attendees can share comments at the meeting or by emailing input@lcps.net, the school said.
