Cincinnati District bar troubles dominate EPPD town hall meeting

EL PASO, Texas — The El Paso Police Department held the first in a series of town hall meetings with the various command posts across the city.

Thursday evening's meeting focused on EPPD's Westside Regional Command Center and triggered a lengthy discussion over recent troubles in the Cincinnati Entertainment District, a portion of which you can see in the video player at the top of this article.

Commander Steven Lopez gave a presentation about crime on El Paso's west side and available police services, as well as fielded questions from the public.

That public discussion was dominated by complaints from those living in the Kern Place neighborhood about problems with bars in the adjacent Cincinnati District, which residents said has become a magnet for crime.
