Arson Investigators arrest teens in connection with south-central El Paso fire

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso Fire Marshal's Office Arson Investigators say two 13-year-olds intentionally caused a severe fire on the 300 block of Eucalyptus Street in south-central El Paso back on October 1, 2023.

The Fire Marshal's Office worked with El Paso ISD Police on December 11 to arrest the two teens and charge them with arson. They were put into the jurisdiction of the El Paso County Juvenile Probation Department.

ABC-7 reported on this fire at the abandoned Salazar Apartments when it first happened. You can read that reporting here.

Officials are not identifying the two suspects because they are minors. ABC-7 is working to learn more details, including how the teens caused the fire, what led up to their arrest, and how detectives tracked them down.
