Pedestrian was standing in the road when car hit him, El Paso Police say of Upper Valley crash

Update (October 21, 2024): The El Paso Police Department Special Traffic Investigations Unit is looking into the crash.

Investigators say the pedestrian was in the road when the car hit him. He died at the scene.

Police are still waiting to receive the 18-year-old's identification.

"Pedestrian in the roadway" is listed as a contributing factor to this crash.

Police say this is the 53rd traffic fatality of the year, compared with 62 this time last year.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in the Upper Valley, early Friday morning.

El Paso Police say the call came in at 12:35 a.m.

They say it happened at the intersection of Thornton St. and Country Club Rd.

Special Traffic Investigators have been called out.
