Woman charged with identify theft, forgery

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Karen Michelle Montoya is facing over 100 charges, including identify theft and forgery.

She is charged with eight counts of forgery, 21 counts of identify theft, and 82 counts of receiving stolen property.

Montoya was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center on November 6, 2025.

Court documents state that Montoya allegedly stole a woman's purse from a Starbucks, among other alleged incidents.
