De La Rosa is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

UPDATE, Nov. 15: El Paso police on Monday released new details about last week's shooting in a Lower Valley park that left two teenagers dead and a third wounded.

But there remained no word of any arrests in the case, which police said remained under investigation.

Detectives said "the 3 victims were sitting in a parked car (in Shawver Park) and were approached by the suspects. The suspects shot multiple times at the victims and fled the scene in a vehicle."

Authorities identified one of the deceased as 18-year-old Steven Lopez of east El Paso, but didn't release the identifies of the other two victims. The other fatality was listed in a police report as a 16-year-old Lower Valley boy, while the injured teen was described as a 14-year-old east El Paso girl.

UPDATE, Nov. 11: An El Paso police official said late Thursday night that two of the three drive-by shooting victims in the Lower Valley's J.P. Shawver Park had died of their injuries. The third victim remained hospitalized from gunshot wounds; no identities were released.

Sgt. Robert Gomez said as of 10 p.m. that no arrests had yet been made and no suspects were currently being detained. He declined to indicate whether authorities had a description of the shooter(s) or their vehicle.

Investigators with EPPD's Crimes Against Persons Unit were in the process of interviewing witnesses, as Gomez noted there were other people in the park at the time of the gunfire.

As to a motive for the drive-by shooting, Gomez told reporters: "We don't know exactly why this occurred, but there's no reason at this time to believe the community is in any danger."
