Two arrested after aggravated assault involving child endangerment

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office arrested two women after being dispatched to the Sparks community for an aggravated assault call, EPCSO said Wednesday. Deputies met with the victims, who said the women became aggressive during a child custody exchange March 31.

Deputies met with victims at at the 100 block of Dickens Road. According to EPCSO, the child's mother, Ebony Martinez, and Araceli Uzeta "intentionally used their vehicle to strike the victim's vehicle multiple times" during a chase in Sparks. Investigators found a 2-year-old was inside the suspect's vehicle during the incident.

EPCSO said both suspects left the scene. Criminal warrants for their arrest were issued for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Endangering a Child.

Deputies found Uzeta and the vehicle. They took her into custody and impounded the vehicle. Deputies later found and took Martinez into custody.

Uzeta was booked into the county detention center on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Endangering a Child with a bond of $60,000. Martinez is booked on the same charges without bond.
