EL PASO, Texas -- At least one person was injured after a police cruiser, a city bus and another car collided in south central El Paso on Friday evening.

The crash happened just after 6 p.m. along Alameda Avenue near S. Estrella Street. Traffic investigators had a lengthy stretch of Alameda blocked off as they tried to piece together what happened.

Details were limited, but a smoking squad car with significant front end damage was visible next to the bus shortly after the wreck occurred.

Further down the street was the third vehicle involved; fire and rescue crews pulled a person from that car, loaded him on a stretcher and took him to the hospital in an ambulance.

There was no immediate word on that person's condition, but initial indications suggested the injuries weren't life-threatening.
