Pedestrian struck by car, seriously injured in east El Paso

El PASO, Texas -- A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in east El Paso on Saturday evening.

A fire department dispatcher said the person was seriously injured at Montana Avenue and Wedgewood Drive before 10 p.m.

No other information was immediately available.

  1. This is a growing problem. It’s not going to go away as much as we’d hope. Between pedestrians that disregard the traffic and the drivers that disregard pedestrians, expect those numbers to increase every year.

    You’re not going to train pedestrians to cross at crosswalks or drivers to slow down and stay off their phones. It’s just the world we live in and it’s unfortunate. Same thing goes with DWI.
