Chaparral man killed after fiery three-car crash in northeast El Paso

UPDATE: EL PASO, Texas -- A Chaparral man was killed after a fiery three-car crash that resulted in a fire in northeast El Paso Sunday night.

El Paso Police said a 34-year-old man was driving east on Sean Haggerty Drive collided with 42-year-old Juan Fabian Chavez as he was going north on Gateway North. That collision caused the 34-year-old driver to hit another car along the intersection.

A witness told ABC-7 he was able to pull the 34-year-old out of his Tesla, but it was "too late" for him to reach the other victim.

Chavez was taken to University Medical Center where he later died. El Paso police said the investigation is still on going.

ORGINAL STORY: EL PASO, Texas - First responders rushed a person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a three-car crash that resulted in a fire in northeast El Paso, according to a fire dispatch spokeswoman.

The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. on Sean Haggerty Drive near U.S. 54, according to the spokeswoman.
