Police identify pedestrian killed in central El Paso collision

UPDATE (05/09): El Paso police have identified the pedestrian killed in a crash in central El Paso as 38-year-old Christopher Kory Mozingo. Police say Mozingo was crossing the road at an intersection at an unmarked crosswalk while talking on his cell phone.

Police say the driver was 74-year-old Patricia Demoura-Navarre. Police say Demaura-Navarre was driving eastbound on the 1000 block of Rio Grande when she struck Mozingo at 1100 East Rio Grande.

Investigators say Mozingo died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

EL PASO, Texas - One person is dead after being struck by a car in central El Paso on Sunday evening, according to police.

On Octavia Street and Rio Grande Avenue, an ABC-7 photographer saw a white sedan parked in the middle of the road directly next to a body under a white sheet.

Police have yet to identify the person killed.
