El Paso Zoological Society Rebrand

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Changes are coming for the El Paso zoological society. The society says it is evolving to better reflect its commitment to conservation, education, and community engagement.

The society had promoted, supported and raised funds for the El Paso zoo for over 60 years.

The city and the society's partnership agreement expired in March 2024.

In July of last year, city council approved an agreement between the El Paso Zoo and the Paso del Norte Community Foundation that would allow it to provide funding support for the zoo.

Editor's Note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the zoological society was looking to continue its support of the zoo. It also incorrectly stated that the city decided not to renew their licensing agreement with the society.
