ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — A statewide Amber Alert was issued in New Mexico on Thursday afternoon for a 10-year-old boy taken by his biological mother, who does not have custody, because she did not want him to be vaccinated against Covid-19, ABC affiliate KOAT reported.

New Mexico State Police said 10-year-old Nicolai Kuznetsov was abducted by his mother, 50-year-old Jacqueline R. Haymon, and was believed to be in danger.

According to court documents, the boy’s father said Haymon took Nicolai out of school on Nov. 5. He has not seen the boy since.

The father told police that on Nov. 8, Haymon texted him saying, “You did say they may start requiring the vaccine at school, and this is something I don’t want. So, he’s doing homeschooling… Nicolai is going to stay with me for now.”

On Thursday, a district court judge in Albuquerque issued a warrant for Haymon's arrest due to the “grave concern and the well-being and safety of the boy.”

The boy and his mother were believed to be traveling in a Grey 2019 Honda Civic, license plate NM-AMAP53.

The NMSP said the boy had not been seen since Nov. 5 and was believed to be in danger.

Anyone with information on the boy's whereabouts is asked by authorities to call 911.
