Children can learn about planes, flying at 2nd annual Aviation Summer Camp

SANTA TERESA, New Mexico (KVIA) - The War Eagles Air Museum is hosting the only Aviation Summer Camp available in the El Paso-Las Cruces Area. This will be the 2nd annual aviation-related summer camp the War Eagles Air Museum offers.

The summer camp is taking place at War Eagles Air Museum, 8012 Airport Rd., Santa Teresa, NM, and begins Monday, June 12th at 9:00 am. The 2023 Aviation Summer Camp is an immersive aviation experience for children from 10-14 years of age, featuring aviation-related STEM lessons, exclusive activities not available to the public – like touring private jets, learning to fly drones, various aircraft displays, and so much more.

Campers will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the dynamics of airplanes and flight along with the broad spectrum of careers in the aerospace industry. Campers and their families have the opportunity to fly an airplane at the end of the camp after being introduced to general flying knowledge and practicing in a simulator. The museum is working with Red Arrow Flight Academy to provide an economical experience so that all campers and their families have the chance to experience the joy of flight. There is a strong education component that all campers receive. There are field trips to explore various elements that together form the aerospace industry.

Tickets are available for purchase online for $300.00 per child. You can purchase them at Aviation Summer Camp Tickets, Mon, Jun 12, 2023 at 9:00 AM | Eventbrite.
