PD: Man shot two women he thought were trying to break into his home

    INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WRTV) — Two women were shot after police say a man thought they were trying to break into his home.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of Routiers Avenue just before 9 a.m. after a report of a person who had been shot while trying to break into a residence.

The homeowner told police he fired shots through his window at two people who he said were trying to break into his home.

Police say two women — who are in a domestic situation with the homeowner — were outside the home and allegedly trying to break in when the shots were fired.

Both women were shot in the arm and taken to a local hospital. Their condition is not known.

Police say no charges are being filed at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
