30 new El Paso virus deaths, including woman in 20s
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Health Department announced 30 coronavirus-related deaths Thursday morning, with health officials acknowledging some of these deaths happened over the past six months.
The death toll in El Paso County now stands at 1,816.
The latest deaths included:
- 1 woman in her 20s
- 4 men in their 60s
- 5 women in their 60s
- 3 women in their 70s
- 3 men in their 70s
- 4 women in their 80s
- 7 men in their 80s
- 2 men in their 90s
- 1 women in her 90s
Health officials also announced 474 new virus cases on Thursday.
The number of active cases increased slightly to 8,177 from the prior day when officials significantly changed the way they calculate active infections.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 118,217 confirmed cases in El Paso, with 107,707 reported recoveries - although doctors caution that some recovered persons may experience long-term health impacts as a result of having been infected.
