Man accused of stabbing nephew told police ‘I killed him’, court documents state
EL PASO, Texas -- Court documents obtained by ABC-7 state the man accused of stabbing his nephew told police "I killed him" and showed officers the knife he reportedly used.
Police said 67-year-old Jose Luis Murillo is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Officers were called to 9029 Padilla Dr. shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday. Documents state when officers arrived, they were met by Murillo along with the victim's grandmother.
When police entered the home, they found 33-year-old Adan Armando Garcia Murillo with multiple stab wounds.
According to court documents, Garcia Murillo and his grandmother were sleeping when the suspect began to bang on their door. Documents state Jose Murillo had been drinking throughout the past couple of days.
The victim reportedly shouted "stop it we are sleeping," but Murillo continued to bang on the door. When the victim got up and opened the door, Murillo allegedly began to stab him in the neck, chest and underarm.
Police said the victim was found unresponsive. He was taken to Del Sol Medical center where he is now listed in stable condition.
Jose Luis Murillo was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond.
