Man identified in connection to deadly east El Paso shooting
UPDATE: Federal officials say the man who died after being shot by an officer Wednesday was 29-year-old Luis Angel Garcia.
Officials say Garcia was shot by an officer during a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), enforcement action.
The second person who fled the scene was later arrested and identified as a 28-year-old El Paso man.
The FBI is now the lead investigative agency.
EL PASO, Texas -- Authorities are confirming that a man shot by an officer in far east El Paso Wednesday has died.
The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. along 1900 Zaragoza.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, one other person involved in the incident was placed into custody.
