Police search for suspect following shooting at east El Paso restaurant

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Crimes Against Persons detectives are asking the public for help in finding a man who they say shot another man at the El Cometa on Viscount early Saturday morning.

Officers from the Pebble Hills Regional Command Center responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of the restaurant around 2:45 a.m.

According to their initial investigation, a fight broke out between two men.

The man wanted by police is alleged to have shot his hand gun during the fight striking the 38-year-old man.

The man was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The alleged shooter has not been taken into police custody. The shooter remains outstanding.

CAP detectives ask anyone with information to call police at 915-832-4400 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477 to remain anonymous.
