EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Today will be an active weather day as we track fire risk along with warm, dry, and windy conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning through the region:

• Red Flag Warning in effect from May 18, 09:00 AM MDT until May 18, 08:00 PM MDT

Today we started off our morning with temps in the 60s. El Paso is expected to reach a high of 91, Las Cruces is expected to reach a high of 87 .

Today breezy conditions are expected midmorning light winds are expected by afternoon. Along with winds we could encounter patchy blowing dust and sand.

Conditions are expected to trend dry.
