Countdown to kickoff: Eastwood football team arrives for showdown with Plano at ‘The Star’

ABC-7 will broadcast the Plano Senior High School vs. Eastwood High School football game live on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. on the air and here on KVIA.com.

The game is being played at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, where the Eastwood team arrived by bus late Thursday afternoon and were greeted by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. (See it in the video player below.)

There was also an emotional pregame moment as the Troopers placed the jersey of teammate Eddie Cruz on the star at the Ford Center. Cruz graduated from Eastwood last year and was a star wide receiver. He died Monday while swimming in a lake near Silver City in New Mexico.

Here is the pregame schedule for what will be happening on the field. (All times reflected below are Mountain time)

Both teams will meet in the middle to shake hands and have the option of a prayer. Then they will line up alternating Plano-Eastwood along the two 45 yard line markers.
