El Paso Locomotive will host 1st game since start of pandemic on July 11
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Locomotive announced the team will host Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday, July 11.
It will be the team's first game at Southwest University Park since the coronavirus pandemic led to the postponement of the USL season.
“We are very excited to be back in action on July 11 and playing at home in El Paso makes it even more special,” head coach Mark Lowry said in a news release. “We have always taken great pride in representing the Borderplex community and playing for each and every El Pasoan during what has been a difficult year for everyone makes this an emotional moment."
Fans will be allowed to physically be in attendance, but there will be occupancy restrictions. The team said that as of right now it's planning for 25 percent occupancy.
The team is asking those who plan on attending to wear a face mask, and maintain social distancing.
