UTEP and NMSU undfrated free agent watch

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- No UTEP or NMSU players were drafted in the 2023 NFL Draft but already we've seen a few with some news.

On Monday NMSU linebacker Trevor Brohard earned a spot at the San Francisco 49ers rookie training camp.

Brohard started all 13 games fro the Aggies in 2022 and finished the season with 69 tackles.

Meanwhile on Sunday two other former Aggies also got a call. NM State linebackers Chris Ojoh and Lazarus Williams have earned invites to Rookie Mini Camps. Ojoh will head to New Orleans while Williams will break camp with the Miami Dolphins.

In 2022 Ojoh led the team in tackles with 108, he also ranked 13th across all FBS players with 5.3 solo tackles per game.

Williams meanwhile logged 41 tackles. Alongside Ojoh, Williams forced a team-leading two fumbles both coming on the road. The outside linebacker broke up three passes on the season, including consecutive games versus New Mexico and UMass.

The news of the two Aggie stars heading to Rookie Mini Camps comes just a day after the NFL Draft concluded and when UTEP Running Back Ronald Awatt signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers.

If and when other players link up with and NFL team we will update this story.
