NMSU shutout UNM 8-0 to earn some bragging rights

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- With four games left in a season that has been anything but pretty, the Aggies were out for bragging rights against in-state rivals New Mexico.

After two scoreless innings the Aggies struck first putting on three runs in the bottom of the third. Two of those runs came from Kevin Jimenez's 56th career double.

Cade Swenson pitched a complete game, allowing 5 hits and 0 runs.

In the end all nine Aggies recorded a hit in their 8-0 win over UNM, that was cancelled after 7 innings due to inclement weather.

While the Aggies finished WAC play with a 9-21 record and won't play in the WAC tournament they can still finish the season strong.

On Thursday they begin a three game series against St. Thomas. Right now the Aggies overall record for 2023 sits at 13-35.
