El Paso Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2023: Evwella Munn

EL PASO, Texas -- Evwella Munn always had the credentials to get into the El Paso Athletics Hall of Fame, but it certainly took awhile to come to fruition.

Munn will now get the recognition she deserves when she gets inducted into the El Paso Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2023.

Munn is one of the best basketball players to come out of El Paso.

She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976.

During her high school career, Munn once scored 79 points in a single game, a city record that still stands to this day.

Munn would go on to have a stellar college career.

She was a Junior College All-American before she was recruited to play at the University of Texas.

Munn became the first player from El Paso to join the women's basketball team at Texas.

Munn will be inducted into the El Paso Athletics Hall of Fame June 28th during a induction ceremony.
