High school baseball & softball playoffs: Thursday scores

EL PASO, Texas - The baseball and softball playoffs continued Thursday with several El Paso teams taking the field for game one of their best-of-three series.

The Hanks Knights are the only team from El Paso remaining in the state playoffs.

Thursday the Knights came out victorious in game one of their Class 5A regional quarterfinal series against Abilene Wylie, 6-0.

The Knights are now just one win away from advancing to the regional semi-finals.

Game two is scheduled for Friday.

On the baseball side of things, Americas won game one of their area round series against the defending Class 6A state champs, South Lake Carroll, 7-6.
