Americas’ Mark Moore wins the Greater El Paso Football Showcase Quarterback Challenge

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Here in El Paso, the high school football season has finished for 2023 but there is still plenty more football to played.

Right now the best seniors in the city are preparing for the Greater El Paso Football Showcase All-Star game, while on Saturday the top quarterbacks from the Sun City competed against each other in the annual QB Challenge.

There were four different components to the challenge: the longest throw (Mark Moore, 59-yards), agility (Evan Minjarez), precision (Evan Minjarez) and the touchdown toss (Mark Moore).

With both Eastwood's Evan Minjarez and Americas' Mark Moore winning two events, the winner was decided on a count-back. Moore was dubbed best QB in the challenge.

Some notable El Paso quarterbacks like Shay Smith and Gael Ochoa missed the challenge because they are reportedly out on official college visits.

The All Star game is set for Dec. 16th at 12 p.m. MT over at the SAC. You can buy tickets here.
