El Paso Locomotive claw their way back to steal a 2-2 draw at the death against Atlanta United II

EL PASO, Texas -- The Locos got out to a hot start by scoring in the 4th minute, but they lost their lead quickly and were never able to regain it, they settled for a 2-2 draw against Atlanta United II in their third game in a week.

After an hour and a half weather delay, forward Lucho Solignac opened the scoring after Ricardo Zacarias cleaned up a corner kick and delivered the assist. It's Lucho's seventh goal of the season.

But they didn't hold onto the lead for long, within six minutes of each other Tristan Trager put on a brace and Atlanta United were up 2-1.

The Locos had several opportunities before the half was over but couldn't capitalize.

Evan Newtown kept them in it through some miraculous saves in the second half and midfielder Eric Cavillo managed to secure the equalizer at the death in the 91st minute. That goal is Calvillo's fourth in just two weeks, since he came back from international duties with El Salvador.

The Locos now move to nine in a row unbeaten and finish their three games in a week with 5 points.

They now have nearly a week off before they host the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Sat. July 9th at 7:30 p.m.
