El Paso Locomotive remain in playoff contention as they hold on 3-2 to beat LA Galaxy 2

EL PASO, Texas -- It's no secret the El Paso Locomotive are clinging onto a playoff spot which makes every game from here on out a must win.

Entering Sunday's clash with Galaxy 2, the Locos sat in 6th place in the Western Conference Standings (top 7 teams go through to the playoffs) with just four games left to play.

After an 11 day break the Locos looked fresh, Dylan Mares finishing off a nice sequence of play started by Ricardo Zacarias, before Lucho Solignac put in the cross in the 5th minute.

Solignac would find one of his own 16 minutes later to double the lead. Zacarias assisted Solignac with a backheel pass and the Argentine striker notched his 14th goal of the season in clinical fashion.

After conceding a penalty in the 58th minute Locomotive found the game winner in the 60th minute of play a header from Eric Calvillo off a Eder Borelli cross.

El Paso have three games left in the regular season as they push for their fourth consecutive playoff spot.

Next, the Locos travel to Florida to face Tampa Bay Rowdies on Wednesday Sept. 28, with kickoff slated for 6:00 p.m.
