El Paso Sheriff’s Office identifies educator accused of having improper relationship with student

EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has identified a man accused of having an improper relationship with a student.

The Sheriff's Office says Cale James Danielson, 27, turned himself in on August 17 at the El Paso County Detention Facility after a warrant of arrest was issued.

Investigators say they received a report about the improper relationship on June 20, 2022. According to the Sheriff's Office, investigators learned Danielson, a coach in the Fabens Independent School District, had sexual intercourse with a student inside a locker room at Fabens High School.

The Sheriff's office says Danielson was no longer employed at Fabens ISD and no longer living in El Paso County when the investigation was conducted.

Danielson posted bond on the same day he turned himself in.
