Vehicle goes off cliff along Transmountain Road and into ravine, injuring Fort Bliss soldier

EL PASO, Texas -- A vehicle drove off a cliff along Transmountain Road and landed in a ravine Friday afternoon, injuring the 19-year-old driver.

Sheriff's deputies said the vehicle was headed westbound on Transmountain near the Border Control Museum when the driver, who was identified as a Fort Bliss soldier, lost control and went off the road and over the cliff.

Rescue crews managed to get to the wreckage in the ravine and offer medical aid to the man, whose injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Once they the soldier out safely of the ravine, he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
