63-year-old woman killed in northeast El Paso crash was ejected from motorcycle, then struck by car

UPDATE: Police on Friday identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash the night before as 63–year-old Eartha Jean Jones.

Investigators said Jones' motorcycle collided with a car during a lane change and she was ejected before being struck by another car.

Her death was the 62nd traffic fatality of the year, police data showed, compared to 56 at this same time last year.

ORGINAL REPORT: EL PASO, Texas -- A woman motorcyclist died from injuries suffered when her three-wheel motorcycle collided with a car Thursday evening in northeast El Paso, authorities said.

The crash happened about 6:50 p.m. on U.S. 54 at Sun Valley Drive.

The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in serious condition, where she later died.

Police have not identified the woman; no one else was hurt in the crash.

No further details were immediately available.
